Description
Part of my beach huts range, my framed scenes have been popular over the past few years. Each scene is made up of individually hand cut and decorated beach huts of differing colours. These are firstly decorated with enamel, assembled and fused separately.
The backgrounds are each decorated with fine glass powders and each fused to provide the base layer.
Once cooled embellishments such as small flameworked reeds, branches and murrini reminiscent of flowers are added, alongside hand painted enameled details such as the sun, birds and sometimes fish. Once the enamel has dried, the background makes another visit to the kiln, with several strategically placed beach huts added. This allows me control over the texture of the panel and gives the ability to have some three dimensional texture.
I make two different sizes – the smaller, one hut scene (mounted in an 8″ x 6″ frame); and the larger, three hut scenes (mounted in a 12.5″ x 9.5″ frame).
Every scene is different, so you will have to choose from the drop down boxes, and the picture of the scene will be attached to the variation.
They are suitable for wall hanging or freestanding.
