Make your own Fused Glass Decoration – suncatcher

All you need to make your very own fused glass mosaic style suncatcher – (except the kiln!)

This kit contains a clear base shape, and enough small mosaic pieces of coloured glass to produce a single multi coloured suncatcher.  There are two variations, that I’ve called bars and dots – the bars are obviously the version with the longer pieces of coloured glass (so will have fewer pieces), and the dots – the version with the smaller squarer pieces of coloured glass (more pieces).

The idea, as with all the kits is that you glue the small pieces of glass onto the base shape with the supplied glue, allow it to dry and then return it to me via post to fuse in my kiln.  Once fused, the multi coloured suncatcher will be cleaned, a hole drilled for a hanging ribbon, and it will be posted back to you ready to hang where you will.

Although this kit is suitable for children, I would recommend adult supervision for ages below about 8, due to the nature of the material, the small parts, and incase of sharp edges – it is after all glass!  Ages 5 and up should find it enjoyable to arrange and try and fit in as many pieces as possible.

The glue supplied is water based, washable and non toxic, and although it will stick the glass to glass it is not intended as a permanent fixing. It is recommended that once completed and dried, the multi coloured suncatcher is returned to be fused permanently together, providing you with a unique hand crafted decoration that should last a lifetime.
